The more time we spent together, the more time we wanted to spend together. It got to where she would stay over a few times a week. After a week or so, she mentioned that it was kinda tough because she had to swing by her apartment to shower and get ready for work. That day after work, I went to the store and bought her hairbrushes, a toothbrush, a hair dryer, extra towels, etc. I sent her a picture of all the new things neatly laid out on the bathroom counter and her response was, why don't you just move my ass in already?? Hahahaha! It was mostly a joke. Mostly. It wasn't long after that she started the process of changing jobs. She was a leasing agent at an apartment complex. Which meant that she was either going to have to move to the new apartment complex or her rent was going to go way up because she would no longer get the employee discount.
We had talked a little bit about moving in together. This just kind of sped up the conversation. We talked it over several days and decided that's what we'd like to do. So, we started making plans. We rationalized it by saying it didn't make any sense for her to sign a whole new lease if this was going to go where we thought it was going. That would mean either her or I would be paying rent on a place neither of us were staying at.
Three and a half weeks after our first date, I started spending every night at her apartment. I would go by the house every day to make sure Theo had food and water and then I'd go to Plano/Frisco and stay with her. I guess you could say we sort of moved in together 3.5 weeks after our first date. Because from that point on we never slept apart.
Possibly even more amazing than that is the fact that we still had not had sex. She wanted me to go get an STD test and get the results back first. I had gone and had my blood drawn and was just waiting for the results. Almost 4 weeks to the day after our first date, we went to Rack's because she was playing a scotch doubles match with Max as an alternate because his normal partner couldn't make it. We stayed around and practiced for a while, then went back to her place. We got ready for bed and were lying there talking and well, one thing led to another and we started making out. We had been expecting my test results any day but I just hadn't gotten them yet. One thing led to another and she asked me if I was certain the test would come back clean. I said there's not a doubt in my mind. So we threw the plan to wait until the results came back right out the window. We just couldn't take it any more.
When we woke up the next morning, I checked my email and guess what had came in over night? LOL! So after all of that, we only jumped the gun by a couple of hours.
It wasn't long after that the move-in day arrived. We were both nervous as hell, but with the job change and lease agreement changes going on, it actually made the most sense. Or at least that is what we keep telling ourselves. I took off the day so that we would have plenty of time and not have to rush. It did take the entire day to get everything moved into the house on Windhaven and the apartment cleaned to our satisfaction. At the end of the day we were exhausted, but excited and happy.
And that, is the story of how we moved in together 1 month and 7 days after our very first date.
